Almost a dozen roles and a real, multi-step workflow behind every patient status — here's what to know before your first shift.

Pick a Role

Nurse and Patient are open immediately. Medic unlocks at level 10, Doctor at 20, Veterinarian at 30, Lab Tech at 40, Surgeon around level 40–60 (sources disagree), and Pharmacist at 80. Learn the Tube System First

Almost every illness workflow — Appendicitis, Diabetes, Flu — routes a sample through the tube system to the Laboratory, and routes medication from the Pharmacy back out to you. If you don't know where your nearest tube station is, you'll stall out the moment a Doctor orders a test. Tube stations sit in ER hallways, the Lab, and the Pharmacy on the 1st and 2nd floors.

Get Vitals Down Cold

Nearly every treatment opens with the same three tools: Thermometer, Stethoscope, and Vitals Cart (or Glucose Monitor for Diabetes patients). All three live in the Tool Menu or nearby hallway carts — memorize their locations near ER, ICU, and PACU so you're not hunting for them mid-treatment.

Understand the Building Before You Roleplay Emergencies

The hospital is genuinely large: a basement plus three floors plus a helipad. Read the full hospital maponce so you're not lost when a Doctor asks you to bring a patient to Radiology or a Nurse asks for backup in the ICU.

Watch for Director Color Codes

If you see a BLUE, RED, WHITE, YELLOW, BROWN, or PURPLE announcement, a Hospital Director is broadcasting a real emergency (Cardiac Arrest, Fire, Violent Patient, Missing Patient, Hazmat spill, or another medical emergency respectively).
